KINGS
OF ISRAEL AND JUDAH DURING THE TIME OF JONAH
As we have pointed out before, Jonah was a prophet to
Israel (the ten northern tribes) during the reign of Jeroboam II. During this
same period, first Amaziah (2 Kings 14 & 15) and then Uzziah (a.k.a.
Azariah), his son who became king at the age of 16, reigned in Judah (2 Kings
15 & 2 Chronicles 26). A chart showing the overlap can be found here:
Another interesting chart lists the kings of Israel and
Judah and labels them as good or bad. Jeroboam was rated as bad, Amaziah as
mostly good, and Uzziah as good. That chart can be found here:
